Archaeological Museum

Description

Among the various artifacts preserved within this showcase, we would like to draw attention to number 1. What is it? This series of fragments, supplemented with restorations, once went to make up a simple food container. But there is a great curiosity that surrounds this find. It had a second life after the breakage of the upper part, It became, in fact, a kind of foculum where "pots" for cooking food were placed. We know this because it was found inside a hearth bordered by unbaked bricks in the west room of the large Etruscan building at the site of San Martino a Poggio.
