Description
The find we would like you to dwell on for a moment is a... small dog! This light-colored granular object, found during excavations at Frascole and identified inside the display case with the number 6, is shaped just like a dog's head, but it had a very specific purpose. it is in fact a "spout with pourer," meaning that for the Etruscan population the object as a whole-this is just a fragment-was used to pour drinks. Water? wine? Who knows!!! Certainly it is part of an ancient jug. Some parts of the animal can be well recognized: the straight, pointed ears and the elongated snout desinent, precisely, in a mouth with a circular hole for pouring.
