Description

The find marked with number 31 is a fragment about 21 cm long, of compact, red impasto, which came directly from the 2nd-1st century B.C. Next to it you see a small-scale model of the entire vessel. It is a kind of aerated pot, as the holes in the wall show, in the interior of which were a series of walkways--but for whom? For dormice! Well yes, because during the Roman Empire this cute rodent was fed, fattened and finally... cooked in here! And as far as we know, its meat was also very delicious! Who knows...
