Description
A large number of sandstone blocks and five column bases pertaining to the Archaic temple, i.e., the oldest building of those found at Poggio Colla, have been found in different areas of the acropolis: they appear to have been deliberately buried or reused, suggesting that many of these elements were the subject of ritual practices and thus buried. The large Tuscanic column base, made of worked sandstone, that you can see was part of precisely this group of architectural elements of the Archaic temple.
