Description

The history of the Bianchi brand began in 1885, when Edoardo Bianchi opened his first workshop in Milan, starting the construction of bicycles, and was the first in Italy to switch from solid tires to those with inner tubes (Dunlop) in 1888. In 1901 the first motor bicycle was produced, while in 1903 the first cars with three or four speed ratios were presented. In 1924 Bianchi debuted in the world of motorcycling sports with Tazio Nu-volari, and later there would be champions to achieve continuous trophies, such as Amilcare Moretti and Dorino Serafini (1920s and 1930s), Remo Venturi and Silvio Gras-setti (1950s and 1960s). In 1945, as far as cycling is concerned, a future great champion arrived at Bianchi: Fausto Coppi, who remained 15 years linked to this brand. Subsequently, cycling sports history (from the 1970s to the present), recalls Felice Gimondi, Gianni Bugno, and Marco Pantani. After a post-war economic revival with the design of various motorcycle models (Aquilotto, Bianchina, Tonale, Stelvio, etc.), a period of crisis took over until the final closure in 1964. Bianchi produced armored cars (from 1915 to 1918), bicycles, motorcycles, cars (until 1940) motocross bikes, car-trucks, outboard engines and fiberglass hulls (in the late 1950s). The exhibited racing model , is a very rare model that mounts only the "front pressello" brake with removable iron rims .
