Room: Bicicletta

Description

Domenico Corsi was a small craftsman from Signa , a small village near Florence at the time famous for making straw hats . He produced both racing and travel vehicles and remained active until after World War II . The bicycle exhibited here, is a travel model defined as "Turismo Gran Lusso." It mounts both front and rear brakes, of the "Phillips" rod type with a mechanical central tie rod and pivoted hooves on the fork with a rocker system, very much in vogue in the early 1900s. Equipped with front oil lamp and under-saddle springs. On the rear hub is the "montino" , a system that made it easy to climb even on these high-wheel models .
