Description
Experimental vehicle invented by Cav Pietro Moscogiuri, employed at the Galileo workshops in Florence . After years of studies aimed at aerodynamic efficiency, he prepared this horizontally positioned prototype, which took the name "Moscondoro" and had it tested by the Italian speed champion Enzo Sacchi , who at the Cascine velodrome in Florence in 1955 managed to hold an average of 60 km/h. The athlete had to lie on the bicycle in a horizontal position, resting his chest on the padded frame, significantly improving aerodynamic efficiency but, at the same time worsening the cyclist's breathing capacity, so in reality the hoped-for benefit was not achieved. Donated to the museum by his children Norma and Gianfranco
