Frejus Torino mod Corsa 70s

Museum of Cycling Gino Bartali

Type:
Room: Bicicletta

Description

Beautiful bike but made in the late 1970s , when it had already been incorporated by Legnano . Fitted with the Campagnolo crankset of the time , with 3T handlebars and stem . Frejus was the first team in which Bartali raced in '35 , taken as an aid to Giuseppe Martano, who won 2 Amateur World Championships and took a third place in the Tour . With this brand Bartali won a stage race in Spain and the Tour of the Basque Country, in the final season also the Bernocchi Cup, before switching to Legnano . In '39 Frejus was still a squadron and won the Giro d'Italia , then slowed down activity and all the best riders switched to Bianchi . In 1959 Frejus made the pairing with Ignis and fielded many great riders such as Nencini and Baldini , however, they did not have much luck at the sporting level and the decline began .
