Description

<speak>At the end of the nineteenth century, design had a new impetus, thanks in part to the influence of Japanese art, known in Europe through the prints of the major artists of the Rising Sun. The fabric with irises in the center of the display case shows this new modern, graphic style. In fashion, the great French <lang xml:lang="fr-FR">couturiers</lang> were inspired by new artistic trends, interpreting them with fashions that redesigned the line of the female body. From the imposing volumes of the crinolines, we move to the "ESSE" line, obtained through a substructure, called <lang xml:lang="fr-FR">"tournure"</lang>, which shifts the width of the skirt to the back, as in the case of the splendid wedding dress, on the left side. The dress, embellished with different types of lace, shows all its richness in the skirt. On the front there is a work of thick pointed pleats, while the back is completed with a sumptuous train. On the right side of the shrine is a novel amazon outfit. Black in color, the outfit consists of two pieces: a wool skirt and a velvet frog jacket named <lang xml:lang="fr-FR">"Chasseur"</lang>, embroidered with beads. The suit is designed for leisure and sports. In fact, in this period, social transformations and women's emancipation movements bring about a change in the customs and daily lives of women, who begin to abandon constricting stereotypical clothing such as corsets, corsets and crinolines.</speak>
