Showcase 1 front

Two centuries of fashion and textile design

Author: Museo del Tessuto
Type:
Room: abiti e accessori

Description

The pre-cut panel displayed on the far left of the display case shows how the processes of the fashion supply chain have changed since the second half of the eighteenth century, thanks to mechanization. Here, for example, embroidery is not done on the finished garment, but is done first, on a pre-cut panel laid flat. Once the decoration is finished, all that is needed is to assemble the garment with the wrapping. The most fashionable textile designs are in the neoclassical style with lezzy themes, paginated within rows or in ogival frames.
