Description
The statue is already recorded as the work of Caccini by eighteenth-century sources, placed on site. However, there is no information about the dating, perhaps to be considered coeval with the two 'Seasons' executed for Holy Trinity Bridge (ca.1590). Given the scarce bibliography on the artist, it is not possible to better specify the commission. The depiction follows the indications recalled by the Ripa edited in 1603, becoming this a reference for dating the work
