Description
Kan Yasuda (Bibai, 1945) is a Japanese sculptor. He was born in Bibai on the island of Hokkaido in 1945. In 1969 he graduated from the Geijutsu Daigaku Postgraduate Academy in Tokyo in the sculpture section. He received a scholarship from the Italian government and moved to Rome where he attended the Academy of Fine Arts, a student of Pericle Fazzini. He first exhibited in 1966 at the "Kokuga" exhibition at the Tokyo Museum and "Zendoten" at the Marui Art Salon in Sapporo, where he won the Zendoten Prize. In 1969 he mounted his first solo exhibition in Sapporo at the Daimaru Gallery and in the same year received the Kokuga Prize from the Tokyo Museum. He later opened his workshop in Pietrasanta where he produced his sculptural works in marble and bronze.
