Lenticular wheel donated to the Museum by Champion Francesco Moser and dating back to 1984 , when on January 23 on the concrete track in Mexico City he managed to break Eddy Merckx's 12-year-old hour record by breaking the 50-kilometer wall and setting the record at 51.151 kilometers. Moser's record would be broken after nine years by Graeme Obree, an unknown Scottish amateur.In Moser's historic feat, the use of a new type of bicycle with lenticular wheels played an important role.
